She had two heart attacks in and respectively. Later she was also suffering from pneumonia, broken collarbone, Malaria and other heart problems. Although growing through a heart surgery she was still struggling with the heart problems.

Despite all the major health problems she chose to continue her charity work as a head of Missionaries of Charity even though she was offered a retirement from the post and take rest. Unfortunately, all the severe problems took the toll on her health and she died on 5th September at age of 87 in Calcutta, West Bengal in India. Mother Teresa received many honorary awards and recognition for selfless work and a great contribution to the society.

She received the Noble Prize for Peace in She also received numerous other recognitions and awards for her work. Many books, documentaries, films were made after death to spread her thoughts and let people know about her life and the noble cause she was working for. Mother Teresa was decided to become a nun in her early age. She had joined a convent in the year and then came to India Darjeeling and then Kolkata. That event disturbed her mind a lot and made her various nights sleepless. She started thinking some ways to alleviate people suffering in the slum.

She was well known of her social restrictions so she prayed to the God for getting some guidance and direction. Finally she got a message to leave convent and serve needy people from the God on her way to Darjeeling on 10 th of September in After that she never looked back and started serving to the poor people.

She chose to wear a simple dress of white sari having blue border. Soon, young girls started joining her group in order to provide a kind help to the suffering people of the poor community. She planned to make a dedicated group of sisters which would be always ready for serving to poor in any condition.

Mother Teresa was a great personality who had spent her whole life in serving the poor people. She is well known all over the world for her great works. She would always be alive in our heart as she was the only one like a real mother. She is a great legend and highly recognizable symbol of the sympathy and care of our time. She liked to drape her in very simple white sari having blue border. She always understood herself a devoted servant of the God who had sent to the earth to serve the poor, disabled, and suffering people of slum society.

She always had a kind smile on her face. She was born on 26 th of August in at Skopje, Republic of Macedonia and got her birth name by her parents as Agnes Gonxha Bajaxhin. She was the young child of her parents. Her family struggled a lot for the bad financial status after the death of her father in early age. She had to do add jobs to support her three children and herself. She was God-fearing and a religious lady and always found time for prayers, counting the rosary and visiting the church.

This had a lasting impact on Agnes and decided the future course of her life. And then, hardly six weeks later, she left for India to become a teacher. She studied nursing and went to the slums of Kolkata, the home of the most neglected and deprived men, women and children of the world. One day, soon after her coming as a young Yugoslav Loreto nun from Loreto Abbey, Rathfarnham in Dublin, she was travelling to Darjeeling in a train.

God had told her his wish and directed what she should do. He wanted that she should serve him and seek him among the destitute. Therefore, she founded the Order of the Missionaries of Charity, an institution of women dedicated to the service of the lepers, diseased and destitute in The Order opened schools and centres to treat and give shelter to the lepers, aged, disabled, diseased and the dying. Sister Francis Xavier was made the in-charge of the colony and she had really done a miracle by transforming a piece of barren land bloom into a vibrant living place in just five years.

Here the lepers had a place of their own, a place where they could live and die in peace and dignity, where they could work gainfully and lead a meaningful normal life. Her journey to Darjeeling proved a turning point in her life. It was really the most significant journey of her life. The day was September She was given permission by the Pope to leave the convent and begin her lifelong ministry the year was Two years later, her order of the Missionaries of Charity was approved by the archdiocese of Kolkata and subsequently recognised as a Pontifical Congregation under the direct jurisdiction of Pope at Rome.

Mother saw the manifestation of God in every human being and felt she was serving the Lord when she served a leper, a destitute or a dying person. In them she saw Christ himself.
